SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS (TIKTOK) AS A TOOL FOR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ASSIGNMENT (BOA) IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUBJECT (ENT300) ASSESSMENT

Abstract

This project aims to guide ENT 300 students to apply for online business as part of individual assignments on the subject matter. Prior to that, short briefings are delivered by local entrepreneurs instead of class guidance by lecturers. Then, students may choose affiliated products listed by TikTok Business. All of the transactions are recorded. Three weeks later, the students’ progresses, as well as their experience, are recorded. Eventually, after five weeks, students will complete their business activities in accordance with the subject requirements. T-TOMS are an innovation for completing ENT 300 assignments. Students are guided to market their products using TikTok Marketing Channel. TikTok is a well-known social media tool for communication and is also used by individuals or companies to market a second party’s product. It is popular among local companies and international entrepreneurs who wish to market their services or products. Business opportunity assignment requires the students to market any products or services for the period of 1 month and a half (4 to 6 weeks duration of studies). In the meantime, invited speakers from the industry conduct a series of short session workshops on the TikTok registration process. Students are guided on video preparation skills, content, and copywriting skills in the short video promotion. Traditionally, most lecturers encourage students to practice face-to-face marketing. As a result of this innovation, the ability of an entrepreneurial mindset in identifying business opportunities (PLO10-CLO1) is demonstrated. Besides supporting PLO achievement, students may also have an excellent description of their products, in copywriting and summarizing their personal business in BMC, as required by the rubric (see attachment in the appendix). In retrospect, Business Model Canvas develops sales performance surveys on skills and experience. In effect, the TikTok method for online marketing will be recommended to all of the lecturers because it can further develop student skills and talent to become successful future entrepreneurs.
