GLOBAL SOUTH AUR BHARAT
THE USE OF COMPUTERS IN EDUCATION IN THE GLOBAL SOUTH
DR. MAHENDER KUMAR
Abstract
This paper examines the state of computer education in the Global South, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges associated with digital learning. Key barriers include the digital divide, infrastructure deficits, and limited teacher training. Despite these challenges, computer education has the potential to reduce educational inequality, empower marginalized groups, and drive economic development. Government initiatives, mobile technology, and e-learning platforms are crucial in bridging gaps, but long-term sustainability and accessibility remain significant concerns. Collaboration among policymakers, educators, and international organizations is essential to realizing the full potential of digital education in the region.
