LALITA KUMARI
Abstract
There are many different kinds of pressures that students have to deal with, some of which include the expectations of academic performance, concern about the future, and issues with system integration. Secondary school kids suffer greatly from academic stress due to the high levels of stress they experience in their educational environment. Educators make no effort to comprehend the challenges they face. Highest goals are established for pupils by school administrations. In the present study, the objective was to investigate the levels of academic stress that were experienced by male and female high school students who attended either public or private schools. Data was collected from the sample, which consisted of one hundred students from each of the government and private schools. The data was collected via the use of purposeful sampling. One of the samples was distributed. The academic stress battery of stress measures, which was developed by Bisht (1987), was used via the collection of data. A descriptive survey was used as the method of this investigation. Through the use of the "t" test and descriptive statistics, the hypothesis was really validated. The findings indicate that the nature of the school was a significant element that contributed to the feeling of stress that many students experienced. The levels of stress experienced by students attending private schools were much greater. The study found that teenage pupils' levels of academic stress varied significantly according to their gender. In addition, the study discovered female suffer high levels of stress when it comes to their academic pursuits.
