ESTABLISHING UNIFORM STANDARDS FOR SCHOOL-LEVEL WOMEN'S HOCKEY PLAYERS

RAJAK MEWA FAIROSH, DR. SHIPRA CHAKRABORTY

Abstract

Women's hockey has experienced significant growth and popularity in recent years, with school-level programs playing a pivotal role in nurturing young talent. However, the absence of uniform standards and regulations for school-level women's hockey players has hindered the development and recognition of the sport. This research paper aims to address this gap by proposing a framework for establishing uniform standards, encompassing player development, safety, and equitable opportunities. By analyzing existing standards in men's hockey and international women's leagues, considering the unique needs of female players, and consulting experts and stakeholders, we can pave the way for a more organized, inclusive, and competitive environment for school-level women's hockey players.
