SELF-ESTEEM AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: A COMPARATIVE STUDY AMONG URBAN AND RURAL STUDENTS

DIPANKAR MALAS

Abstract

This comparative study investigates the relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement among urban and rural students. It explores how students’ self-perception influences their academic confidence and performance. Data is collected using standardized self-esteem scales along with academic records. The study compares differences in self-esteem levels and achievement between urban and rural learners. The results are expected to demonstrate a positive correlation between high self-esteem and better academic performance. Additionally, the research identifies environmental and socio-cultural factors that influence self-esteem. It emphasizes the importance of supportive educational settings in enhancing student confidence. The findings provide valuable insights for designing interventions aimed at improving both self-esteem and academic success.
