THE ROLE OF OPEN BOOK EXAMINATION IN FOSTERING DEEP LEARNING

SAKIL MAHLADAR, MD. ABUJAR ALAM

Abstract

The process of evaluation involves assessing a student's qualitative and quantitative characteristics. Through appropriate assessment, a student's certificate is awarded after their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and moral qualities, among other things, are assessed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Students are liberated from traditional tests by Open Book Exam. Different forms of examination systems in the educational system are discussed in NEP 2020. Another type of assessment system is the open-book exam. Students' stress levels are lowered by this exam system. A system of open-book exams does not encourage students to memorize information. Students' critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are enhanced as a result of this test. Students who take open-book exams are better able to analyze and comprehend the material. In addition to assessing pupils' cognitive development, this test looks at their capacity for reasoning and comprehension. The open-book exam's questions are structured to allow students to apply what they have learned. Students' self-efficacy and time management skills are enhanced. Open Book Examination aims to help students develop their ability to solve problems in the actual world.
