DR. NARESH A. RATNOTTAR

Abstract

This study considers the gender inequality that exists in social classes in all sectors. Gender inequality prevents the development of the Indian economy from improving the lives of the Indian people. Thus, gender inequality is deeply rooted in Indian society. Although it is a global phenomenon, it is widespread in the male-dominated Indian society. Discrimination against women is seen even before her birth in the form of femicide and when she is born, it is seen in the form of femicide. Thus, different treatment is seen on the basis of gender from childhood. Therefore, attempts have been made to find out the factors responsible for this problem in India. This paper highlights the prevailing gender inequality in India and the multidimensional context. Overall, this study shows inequality in economic, social, cultural and legal prejudice. Establishing proper equality across social sectors is a major challenge for policymakers and social scientists. Researchers have attempted to suggest some relevant strategies and policy implications to reduce this gender inequality and promote a dignified position for Indian women.
