THE ROLE OF SOCIAL VALUES IN THE INCREASING PARTICIPATION OF INDIA IN GLOBAL SOUTH
RUBAL SUTHOUD
Abstract
India has increasingly taken a deep presence in the Global South because social values play a high level of influence on her international relations and cooperation architecture. This paper studies India's special social values driven by the principles of non-alignment, mutual respect and holistic development in driving the role it has taken in its international leadership and active involvement into South-South Cooperation underlining the importance of collaborative development and solidarity with such a commitment to respecting sovereignty, support for self reliance and development that promotes long-term sustainable development. India's commitment to social values such as equity, justice, and cultural respect places the country as a bridge between developing nations, primarily in international organizations like BRICS, G77, and the Non-Aligned Movement. Its initiatives in the field of health, transfer of technology, and economic cooperation, for example, can reveal how shared values are crucial in enhancing coherence, upgrading collective bargaining capacity, and building resilience across the Global South. The case study reflects the rapidly emerging importance of India's value-driven foreign policy based on social values in molding a more inclusive, multi-polar world order-while showing its impact upon regional stability, economic growth, and cultural exchange within the Global South.
