Abstract

Family is such a training ground on earth where education of moral and human values is provided to the individual free of cost. Contemporary Hindi storytellers have extensively depicted family relationships in their novels and stories. Along with the portrayal of husband-wife, elders in the family, these storytellers have given a comprehensive portrayal of family disintegration, children's problems, ideological conflict between the older generation and the younger generation, etc. The structure of the social system before and after independence was present before the author. Some writers are in favor of individualism, some are in favor of independence and some consider the existence of joint family necessary for the social system. In this way the contemporary storyteller is conscious of the social fabric.
